Happy Birthday, Olympic Sculpture Park
2017 marks the 10th anniversary of SAM’s Olympic Sculpture Park, which transformed a vacant urban brownfield into a beautiful public green space and world-class art park.
The project began in 1996 with the cleanup of 120,000 tons of contaminated soil from 8.5 acres of waterfront property. Over the past 10 years at the park, SAM has added thousands of native plants and trees, installed 25 permanent sculptures, and has featured 15 special exhibitions.
Through the years, hundreds of thousands of people of all ages have attended exciting and innovative free programs at the park—and that’s only of a fraction of the millions of visitors to the park over the years.

Make a gift that lasts a lifetime
You can help make sure the next 10 years at the park are as great as its first! Now through September 2017, celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Olympic Sculpture Park with SAM by adding a name to the Olympic Outlook on the Seattle Waterfront. Overlooking the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains, the Olympic Outlook steel railing is a beautiful opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to the arts forever.
